Unitech's Sanjay Chandra, an accused in the 2G spectrum allocation case who got bail has withdrew his application from the Delhi High Court for permission to go to Singapore for treatment of his diabetic nine-year-old son.
Chandra in his application had sought the court's permission to visit Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore between Dec 24-29 for the treatment of his minor son, suffering from a kidney problem earlier and now diagnosed with diabetes.
On Monday, he withdrew his plea as Justice Indermeet Kaur declined to grant him the interim relief.
"The petition is dismissed as withdrawn," the court said.
On Dec 20, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge O.P. Saini, who is hearing the 2G spectrum case, rejected Chandra's application.
The CBI opposed the plea on the ground that the investigation regarding the money trail in the 2G case was still on.
The agency told the court that someone other than Chandra should accompany the child during the treatment period in Singapore.
Chandra was sent to jail April 20. He was granted bail Nov 23 by the Supreme Court. |
